How To Download And Play Sims 3 Without Disc
Um, I'm not sure if I'm posting this in the right spot, but I didn't know where else to turn to..literally.
So, I recently purchased the Sims 3 Starter pack;(it has Night Life, and High End Loft Stuff Pack included). I installed the set, but found that I was experiencing problems with game-play. For example, my Sims kept freezing with every 5 steps they took, and they kept doing some weird glitch where they pee themselves over and over.(Literally the only way to stop it was to end the game.) In addition, I was un-able to download my bonus Date-Night gift items to the game because Origin wasn't allowing it, even though I had already been to the EA Sim store to claim it, and I even successfully downloaded to my EA account. However, when I tried to get it from the game launch screen, it kept saying 'unable to connect to EA download manager.' So anyways, I assumed that all of my problems were stemming from Origin. I recalled that with the previous Sims 3 game I had purchased (NOT a starter pack), I was able to download it perfectly without Origin.
However, with this starter pack, I was not even given the option to install without Origin. As soon as I put the disc in, even if I click Autorun, Origin comes up.
I have already searched online for the answer to this problem, and I found the EA site for help titled, 'Installing Sims 3 without Origin', but it never showed me how to do it. Let me repeat, once I click Autorun.exe Origin STILL shows up, and there is NO option to choose Install Shield, or whatever. Also, I never put in the purchase code of Sims 3 because Origin never gave me the option to do so.
I uninstalled everything, and I'm not sure if I just have a faulty disc or what, but I am open to ideas. As it is now, I am trying to wait for as long as I can before I turn in the disc, just in case there is a way to fix it. But I am convinced that my problems will be solved if I could just install the starter pack without Origin.
If anyone can help at all, I would greatly appreciate the help. I would really like to play Sims. :?
Thank you.
